Lucy Boston Sew Along Week 2
Let's start sewing the center unit honeycombs together!
Please remember that it is super OK if your stitches show! It's really just a natural process of English Paper Piecing since we're handsewing these shapes together. Nobody expects your stitches to look like that of a machine and if you match your thread color to the fabric of your choice, or use a fine enough thread, then you barely see the stitches anyways!
KEY POINT: enjoy the process and don't stress over stitches showing! Ok? Ok.
Homework for next week:
We're moving along with the next set of units on the Lucy Boston - POTC (patchwork of the crosses) block!
Prep 4 units worth of templates and I'll see you back here next week!
Oh, and I've had quite a few of you asking about the finished size for one block as seen on the coloring page in the sizes available in the shop, so here they are!
- 1" template block is approximately 17" square
- 1.25" template block is approximately 21-3/8" square
- 1.50" template block is approximately 25-5/8" square
- 1.75" template block is approximately 29-7/8" square
- 2" template block is approximately 34-1/8" square
